Privacy policy
This Privacy Policy explains how information is managed on Techinaround.
- Information Collection
Techinaround does not use accounts, registrations, or user profiles. It does not collect, store, or ask for any personal data like your name, email address, or location. It uses a third-party service (Supabase) to power the “Like/Dislike” buttons. When you interact with these buttons, an anonymous count associated with the specific article is stored.
How data is stored:
On your device: localStorage is used (a small piece of data stored in your browser) to remember if you have already voted. This prevents duplicate voting and does not track you across other websites.
On our servers: The total number of likes and dislikes for each post. This site does not store your IP address, your location, or any identifying information about your device or browser.
Third-Party Services: The database is hosted by Supabase, Inc. Their privacy policy governs the technical infrastructure of the database, but as implemented on this site, no personal data is shared with them or sold to third parties.
- Advertising and Cookies
This site uses (a)ads (Anonymous Ads). This network is privacy-focused and doesn’t follow you around the internet. No Behavioral Tracking: no ads that build a profile of your browsing habits are used. Contextual Ads: the ads you see are based on the tech content you’re reading. Cookies: (a)ads is designed to work without tracking cookies. While some basic technical cookies might be used for site functionality (like making sure you don’t see the same ad ten times in a row), they aren’t used to identify you personally. You can always disable cookies in your browser if you prefer.
- Technical logs
The server hosting Techinaround might automatically log basic, non-identifiable info when you visit, such as your browser type, the date/time, and which page you looked at. This is strictly for technical maintenance and to make sure the site is running correctly.
- External Links
My posts may link to other sites like cloud services. I’m not responsible for how those external sites handle your privacy, so I recommend checking their policies.
